Mornington Peninsula - Australia

It is situated on the eastern side of Port Phillip Bay just an hour drive from Melbourne. Some of Australia's best sandy beaches are here with a variety of water activities including sailing, fishing, surfing, scuba diving and swimming with the dolphins and seals.



Mornington Peninsula tourism is famous for its bay beaches as well as its wines especially Chardonnay and Pinot. The region is also noted for its historic homes and gardens and has been a retreat for artists for more than a century. Visit some of the excellent galleries and craft markets at towns such as Red Hill and Mornington. Mornington Peninsula in Australia is a beautiful travel and tourism destination that has something for all its visitors. The sandy white beaches of the Peninsula are a perfect getaway from routine life. The Peninsula also boasts of two of the best National Parks in the country Mornington Peninsula National Park and Point Nepean National Park. You must see the Sullivan Bay, French Island, Phillip Island and the Penguin parade.

Point Nepean, at the tip of the peninsula, is one of several parks that together are known as Mornington Peninsula National Park. It consists of Fort Nepean and its defenses, an old army base and a quarantine station. There are beautiful walkways around the park and Cape Schanck has a historic lighthouse with fantastic views. There are gorgeous beaches all around and the biggest attraction here is swimming with seals and dolphins. There are also over 50 vineyards in the inland producing excellent quality red and white wines. Some of these wineries have restaurants attached to them that serve wine and gourmet food. The wineries produce a selection of award wining wines including 'Pinot' Chardonnay and Merlot wines along with shiraz and the lesser known varieties of viognier and pinot gris. If you prefer not to drive to the Mornington Peninsula vineyards and wineries, there are bus tours which you can join.

Its coastline is lined with fabulous beaches, tea trees and the entire area is a great place for wildlife viewing as it’s home to native kangaroos, bats, bandicoots, echidnas, and many species of birds.

Mornington Peninsula Tourism offers great golf experience, It is the perfect destination for your next golf trip with more than 18 golf courses in the region.

Dolphin Cruises
This place also offers the opportunity to observe and swim with wild bottlenose dolphins in Port Philip Bay.

Horse Riding:
Ocean beach horse rides along St Andrew's Beach, trail rides through beautiful Greens Bush and exclusive wine tasting rides.

Water Activities:
Mornington Peninsula National Park has outstanding sandy beaches and scenic rocky headlands along the Bass Strait cost. Water activities include swimming, surfing, diving, fishing, walking and sightseeing.
