Buzios BeachesBuzios Tourism Overview and History:
Buzios (or Armacao dos buzios) is a famous is a coastal city located about two hours ( about 175 km) north from Rio de Janeiro. Its a tiny fishing village beautiful white sandy beaches, nightlife and a perfect place to relax, offering high quality services to both domestic and international tourists. Buzios tourism was not famous place until the famous French film star Brigitte Bardot came here in 1964 and this town got a lot of attention, major property development started here in the 1980s. Today the town is a premier beach resort with many famous people who constantly keep coming here. It's a Mediterranean style resort, and the setup of town more like Portuguese colonial style. It has thin cobbled streets with number of bars, restaurants, cafes, and other shops. Annual Jazz Festival: It happens in late July and several nightclubs play free live jazz music throughout the night.




Especially during December to February Buzios tourism is quite busy, tens of thousands of tourists come here to enjoy a number of beautiful beaches.

Popular activities include
windsurfing, diving, sailing, fine cuisine, and lot of shopping. Nights are usually a busy time for bars, The central point is Rua das Pedras, a charming and eclectic street where tourists stroll, shop, drink, enjoy nightlife and party. The people of Buzios are very friendly. Today it is one of the most fashionable and most expensive bathing resorts in the country (the "St-Tropez of Brazil"), with elegant shops and a well developed tourist infrastructure. It's 20 beaches ( like Azeda, Azedinha, Joao Fernandes, Forninho etc. ) of incomparable beauty and 18 islands attract visitors from all over the world.

There is a Brigitte Bardot statue looking out to sea and a lot of tourists who come for Buzios tourism take picture with it. Compared to the other places in Buzios an expensive place. Its easy to reach Buzios by car or bus from Rio. Other options include by air and by sea too. Buzios is possible to visit all around the year. The average annual temperature is around 21 degree C. Walk along the harbour edge from the town center to the area in which most hotels are set in. There are hundreds places where you can stay. About five hotels with international level facilities and many other standard hotels and guest houses. This place comes alive at night with a disco and the town center is open until about 1 in the morning.


Buzios tourism can actually be divided into three regions, Manguinhos and Armacao and Ossos in the north famous for its old colonial architecture and quite attractive considering nightlife and activities. The peninsula's southern beaches are trickier to get to, but they are prettier and have better surf. The northern beaches are more sheltered and are closer to the towns.

Other Buzios tourism activities include horse riding, trekking, mountain biking, sail, surf, play tennis and golf. The annual jazz festival goes for 4 days around end of July every year. At Taua Reserve there are over 300 species of butterfly and 60 types of birds. Despite the influx, the town has managed to retain a good deal of the charm of its fishing-village past. Brazil, Buzios is a great tourism destination.

Tip #8. Try not to wear conspicuous clothing and expensive jewelry to avoid being a target of crime. Do not carry excessive amounts of money or unnecessary credit cards. Try to search on the internet about what other people have experienced recently for the places you are visiting.
