Floripa - Brazil

Florianopolis or Floripa is located in southern Brazil with an area of about 436 square kilometers. It is the capital of Santa Catarina State and its main island 'Santa Catarina' is known for its amazingly beautiful beaches, traditional Azorean fishing villages and of course an excellent seafood. Named after Marshall Floriano Peixoto, the second President of the Brazilian Republic, Floripa Brazil is a well-known international travel destination.


Floripa Tourism PicturesFloripa tourism offers over forty beaches, beautiful landscape, lakes, sand dunes and small islands along most of its coast. The city limits of Floripa consists of Santa Catarina island and also a portion on the Brazil's mainland. The city is located 298 kilometers to the south of Curitiba, it is connected to the continent by two bridges.

Along the coast there are many fortresses built to protect against the invasion by the Spanish and Dutch during the 16th and 17th centuries. Floripa center has thin alleys, churches and museums, and overall architecture reminds of its colonial past.

Apart from beaches and water sports, other popular tourist attractions include Forte Santana, Municipal market, Sambaqui, Hercilio Luz Bridge, Ratones Island, Anhatomirim Island, Lagoa da Conceicao and much more.

Northern part of the island is more developed and more people live here. The southern half is less developed and more isolated. The central and north zones of Florianópolis are the most popular because of its excellent tourist infrastructure. The city also offers resorts and good hotels. You will find great Seafood, Portuguese Food, Italian, salads, and fruits.


Popular North Zone Beaches: (Brazil Floripa)
Daniela, Forte, Jurere, Canasvieiras, Cachoeira do Bom Jesus, Ponta das Canas, Brava, Mocambiquek, Barra da Lagoa and Galheta.

Most of these beaches in this zone have plenty of bars, restaurants, lodgings and a good Floripa tourism facilities.


Popular South Zone Beaches: (Brazil Floripa)
Morro das Pedras, Armacao, Do Matadeiro, Pantano do Sul, Dos Naufragos, Ribeirao da Ilha, Campeche etc.

Most of these beaches are less commercialized and more isolated,  perfect for Brazil Floripa ecotourism.

Nightlife:
In summer most of the nightlife is concentrated around the beaches. In winters its mostly around the Lagoa da Conceiçao area, home of many popular bars and clubs.

If you have international voltage converter all your domestic appliances that you want to charge like camera, hair drier etc.. can be used.
