DALHOUSIE TRAVEL GUIDE AND TOURISM INFORMATION:

Dalhousie in Himachal Pradesh is a beautiful and serene hill station in the western Himalayas. Established in 1854 by the British Empire in India as a summer retreat for its troops and bureaucrats, the town was named after Lord Dalhousie who was the British Viceroy in India at that time. Today Dalhousie draws crowds of Indian tourists in the summer, therefore the best time to go there is between March and May or September and November. The setting that drew the British is still spectacular, with forested slopes, green valleys, and the snow-capped Pir Panjal peaks on the towns doorstep, here you really can get a sense of being close to the great Himalayas. The best way to soak in the atmosphere is to take walks, and perhaps watch some migratory birds. Dalhousie is truly a great travel and tourism destination.
