The majestic
MGM Grand hotel & casino opened in 1993 on the south side of the Strip and is
known for its glamour, comfort and exciting shows. It is located at the famous
and busy intersection of Las Vegas Blvd and Tropicana Blvd. As the name
indicates, it is based on Hollywood theme and offers one of the best shows in
Vegas. MGM Grand was featured in the 1996 boxing comedy movie 'The Great White

The African lion habitat in the casino area is quite popular and free for all guests. Its made in such a way so that these wild cats feel the environment of a jungle so they can play and sleep naturally. There is a short transparent tunnel that goes inside this habitat and tourists can take a closer look of these lions. The lions in this habitat are frequently rotated from a ranch owned by MGM Grand hotel which is away from the strip.

A cafe which is based on the rainforest theme, called Rainforest Cafe is a popular attraction among tourists and offers pastas, appetizers, salads etc. Replica of many animals like gorilla, crocodile and snake is placed around, some of them actually move. It also features an aquarium and a shop adjacent to the cafe where you can buy rainforest style souvenirs, clothes or just take some pictures.
