VEGAS RECOMMENDATIONS FROM MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE:
Las Vegas is an amazing place for vacation with so much to offer that it can
easily overwhelm the first time visitor. In my opinion inorder to enjoy your
Vegas vacation, you require smart planning and figure out how to make the
most out of your time and money.
There are 3 main entertainment activities in Vegas
* Gambling or Gaming (obviously paid).
* Enjoying the amazing eye-popping architecture of Palace like casino hotels
(free to enter and walk around). My favorite is Venetian Hotel and Casino.
* Watch shows (free or paid).
Other activities include Golf, Shopping, Spa, Drinking, Adult activities and
more. Depending on your personality, budget and interests you need to decide how
much time you would like to allocate on each of these activities.
MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCES OF LAS VEGAS VACATION:
The first time I came to Vegas with friends in year 2002. At that time I could
have never imagined that I would come here five more times in the next five
years. Even though I like limited gambling, it was not the primary reason for me
to come here in the following visits. In my second trip I came here with my wife
and next four times I came with my friends who wanted me to come because firstly
I have a good sense of humor but also to act as their TOUR GUIDE. I
decided to share my personal Vegas vacation experience in this article,
especially keeping in mind the first time Vegas tourists who should benefit from
my recommendations and knowledge.
FIRST Vegas Trip: I was a single guy, and went with three other friends. We drove from California Bay Area (San Jose, Santa Clara, Fremont, San Francisco and Oakland area). We watched a few shows (free, comedy etc..), had drinks and gambled a lot. A close friend of ours had recommended us to stay in one of the upscale casino hotels and we did get a good deal for about $100 per night. In gambling, one of our friend lost a lot of money as he was feeling "Lucky" that day, but unfortunately his luck did not strike before the end of our trip. Another guy won a couple of hundred dollars in blackjack. We stayed here for a total of 5 days and on one of the days we drove to Grand Canyon National park (South Rim) by starting early in the morning from Vegas, we also took a brief break at Hoover dam on the way. After spending a few hours in Grand Canyon we drove back to Vegas the same day, it took us 5 hours each way, although it was a hectic journey but grand canyon certainly was a remarkable experience.
SECOND Vegas Trip: This time I came with my wife for 5 days. Obviously it was not a guys only trip so we took this trip more gently and spent more time going to various hotels and enjoyed casino-hotels architecture. Gambling was less than 10% of our total time spent in this trip. We watched all the free shows and a paid one, also went to Hoover Dam and Lake Mead Park on one of the days. We enjoyed the typical fun filled ambiance of Las Vegas and had a lot of fun.
FOLLOWING Vegas Trip (With Friends): Since I had pretty much seen most of the city in my previous visits to Las Vegas, the main target was to help my friends see all the best places of Vegas in just 3-5 days and still keep the cost of the trip low.
Las Vegas vacation requires quite a bit of walking too so prepare yourself for it. Also good to know is that while walking on the Strip, there are several people handing out small card size advertisements. Just avoid those people, those cards have numbers for so called call girls.
