Tijuana - Gateway to Mexico:

TRAVEL AND TOURISM OVERVIEW:
Tijuana is the largest city in the Mexican state of Baja California and the world's most-visited border city. This US-Mexico border city is just south of San Diego, California, in fact you can make a round trip from San Diego in just 1 day. Many foreigners travel here to drink and dance, buy prescription drugs, bootleg brand-name clothing and accessories. There are many night clubs, including several gay clubs. You will find a lot of handicrafts, leather goods, cigars and souvenirs. Bargaining is common. Its always recommended to keep an ID with you. Tijuana is a popular travel and tourism destination.

LANGUAGE:
Spanish is the most common language but being a tourist place most shopkeepers speak English.

POPULAR TOURISM ATTRACTIONS:
Avenida Revolución (Revolution Avenue):
Most of the shopping (ex: items described above) for tourists happens here. You will also find bars and a nearby red-light district La Coahuila.

Lady of Guadalupe Cathedral:
Oldest church in Tijuana consrtucted in 1902.

Car Rentals: At least 25 years old and have a major credit card to rent. International Driver’s permits not required but recommended.
Tijuana can be crowded on long US holiday weekends, plan your trip and keep extra time for border crossing.
