Casablanca is the largest city and the industry hub of Morocco. Few tourists who come here with the idea Casablanca movie are actually surprised by the development and transformation of this place in the last few decades to high buildings, modern facilities and overall infrastructure. Most of the people who come here are for business rather than tourism purpose.
The industries of Casablanca produce electronics, soft drinks, automobiles, textile and much more. Fishing is also an important part to the economy. France occupied Morocco for the first half of the 1900s, leaving a legacy of language and architecture after its 1956 withdrawal. The popular places for tourism includes Hassan II Mosque, Palace royal, beach at Ain Diab, Jewish district, Place Mohammed and La Corniche. The modern city of Casablanca was founded by Berber fishermen in the 10th Century BC and today has a population of over 4 million.
The famous Mosque of Hassan II is one of the biggest and most expensive religious buildings in the world. The Casablanca mosque has the tallest minaret with 210 meters, and room for 25,000 worshippers, sections of this mosque are still under construction, which includes a Koran school and an Islamic university. Casablanca is very well connected and conveniently communicated with the rest of the country. Trains in Morocco run on time, are clean and safe. There are some night clubs and bars at La Corniche and Beach Front and around Boulevard Mohammed.
