JAISALMER HOTELS AND RESTAURANTS IN JAISALMER Jaisalmer has some of the best Hotels and Restaurants in Rajasthan. You can literally live like a king in one of the converted palaces of Jaisalmer and enjoy the traditional Rajasthani cuisine. Jaisalmer being a large tourist city, other cuisines, Indian, Continental and Chinese are easily available. However, there are very few decent restaurants in Jaisalmer. The good hotels are your best bet for a savory meal. WHERE TO EAT Trio: This rooftop restaurant is travelers favorite, serving Indian food and some Continental dishes. 8 July Restaurant: This restaurant is run by an eccentric Indo-Australian. It serves simple snacks, pizzas, vegetable dishes and coffee milk shakes. It is inside the Jaisalmer Fort and has breathtaking views of Jaisalmer. Fort Rajwada: This is the most luxurious hotel in all of Jaisalmer with French interior design and historic Marwari touches. Standard rooms are western, with contemporary furnishings, Suites are far more extravagant, with frescoes and antique beds with pure silver bedposts. Gorbandh Palace: This fairly new, golden sandstone hotel is spacious and elegant. The rooms are arranged in a Haveli style blocks around a series of small interior courtyards with skylights and fountains. Rawalkot: This is a cozy hotel is located on the edge of the town, with a great view of the fort. It has small sandstone rooms, old-style furniture, pebbled courtyards and stained glass windows. Jawahar Niwas Palace: This is an actual palace, built in 1899 and has been converted into a Heritage Hotel. The Palace has large rooms with old-style furniture and beautiful views of the fort. Some of the other good hotels in and around Jaisalmer are:-Rang Mahal, Heritage Inn, Himmatgarh Palace, Narayan Niwas Palace, Rajwansh Resorts, Hotel Sona, Mahadev Palace and Hotel Golden City. Tip of the day Tip #13. Don't put all your money in one place, split your spending money in different pockets. This way, if you are pick-pocketed, you will always have money.
