Sentosa Island Merlion



Sentosa is one of the best places for travel and tourism in Singapore. It's a 390-hectare modern resort island and park south of Singapore, visited by some two million people a year. It can be reached from the Singapore mainland via a short causeway or Cable Car. You will need at least 1-2 full days for Sentosa Island. It has its own transportation of buses like Blue Line, Red Line, Yellow Line, Beach Tram which operate in fixed routes. It even has two 5 star hotels if you decide to stay here.


PLACES TO SEE & THINGS TO DO:
Some of these are free , others require a nominal entrance fee.

Animal and Bird encounters:
Close encounters with Reptiles like pythons and Iguana. Primate and Birds at the Amphitheatre.

Butterfly Park & Insect Kingdom Museum:
This museum contains an impressive display of more than 50 species of primitive butterflies and insects, you will be amazed with their collection. Eventually you get into an enclosure covered by nets from all sides and find yourself between over 1000 beautiful butterflies.

Dolphin Lagoon:
You will see the Humpback Dolphins performing some very intelligent moves, their feeding and training sessions. Sometimes the host will invite a visitor and participate in the show.

Songs of the sea:
Don't miss the musical fountain show which uses the interaction of lasers against water particles to create three-dimensional images.

The Merlion:
Its a 37 meter high statue, half lion and half fish. Visitors can go inside and to the top for a complete view of Sentosa island some sections of South Singapore.

Underwater World:
Beautiful aquarium with about 250 species of fishes like sharks, starfish stingrays, eels and more. There is a transparent tube-walkway which takes you under the water and you can see fishes swimming all around.

Other Attractions:
Fort Siloso Tour ( a reminder of World War II exhibits), Sentosa 4D Magix, Skyride, Dragon Trail, Fountain Gardens, Herb & Spice Garden, Natures walk, Beaches, good restaurants and the list goes on. Sentosa is a remarkable travel and tourism destination.
